Join Amanda Russell, Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst as she provides your child with a space where they can create friendship groups based on common interests.
This Lego-based Club will use cooperative play to give children the opportunity to work together to build and create using Legos. Children will work together in pairs or in groups of three to create a final project. The requirement to work collaboratively encourages practice of working together, communication, sharing, turn-taking, problem solving, and conflict resolution. This club will also provide a space for children to build friendships over a common interest. Each participant must be verbal and able to follow simple directions.
Amanda has spent her 15-year career working with children with a myriad of emotional, social, and behavioral needs. She initially started as a teacher’s assistant at the Gifford School in Weston, MA and then spent time as an Applied Behavior Analysis Counselor at the Melmark School in Andover, MA. Once she received her teacher’s license, Amanda worked as a special education teacher in Lowell, MA. After receiving her BCBA license, Amanda worked at Lowell Public Schools in a district-wide position.
Currently, Amanda provides consultation to various local school districts, conducting Functional Behavior assessments and Home Services Assessments.
